A neighborhood staple.
Family owned. Always growing.

About Us

Since 1963, Five & Dime has been a Melrose staple, a neighborhood candy shop built on family, late nights, and shelves stocked with sweets from around the world.

Founded by Harry with one goal, keep it simple and keep it in the family. The store grew the way most things do: slowly. Imported treats joined the shelves. Debates were had behind the counter. Candy corn never left, regardless of the season.

Eventually, the shop was passed down to his boys. New chapters began.
Some ideas stuck.
Some didn’t.
But the foundation held.
Every store needs good roots.

Candy Corn (Seasonal Favorite):

Under-appreciated. Unapologetic. Always in season, even in June. A Five & Dime staple that proves some traditions don’t need fixing.

Imported Puds:

A sweet addition from across the pond. Brought in when someone in the family believed the shelves could hold a little more of the world.

Redford the Cardinal Collectible:

One of the early acquisitions from the lemonade era. Market value fluctuates. Emotional value does not.

Lemonade Mix (Now 30¢):

Early entrepreneurial energy. Market corrected.
